Played in an online tournament today since I did not head up to the casino. It was a PLO tournament, have not played one of those in a while. It was tough, but I followed my playing/betting strategy that has been working for me in NLH, and I won it. Might play some more later.

Victory in last night's tournament

I have won the Friday night tournament twice in a row. Last time I thought it was just good karma for catching a guy who fell out of his wheelchair while going down a step. But last night I played the same style of poker, and won it again. I played almost every hand when the blinds were low, and bluffed a lot when I sensed weakness. Bet the same when I had monsters. No one knew what I had. It worked out well. I was chip leader most of the night until the blinds went up and I tightened up some. Then my pocket 7s held up against AJ to regain the chip lead, and the final hand was a 3-way all in with my having pocket 9s, the second stack had pocket 8s, and the small stack had AQ. My 9s held up and I won first place.

Winner

Last night I played in a local tournament. I played a different style than my norm, something I have been working on for a little bit. I played many more hands than I usually do, disguised my hand strength extremely well, showed crap cards with monster strength, and bluffed like a champ. I did lose some hands, but overall no one knew what I was playing and if I was strong or not. When it got down to 3 of us, we decided to chop. It was a nice cash to add to my bankroll. Looking forward to going back next week and repeating.

Playing with the Pros

On Tuesday, I was invited by the PPA to play in a 200 player poker tournament. the top 20 won something, while first place won a seat into a WSOP event. I sat at Paul Wasicka's table, and was two to his right. This is not the first time I have met him, but just like last time, he was very friendly with everyone. He answered everyone's questions, said yes to every autograph request and picture request. The tournament was a lot of fun. The structure was very fast, and I did not make it in the money. I did have a nice bluff on the river with 23 and hitting air. I showed it, and Paul gave me a big smile. I wish I had done better, but it was a very memorable experience.

Bad Beat

I am not one to bitch about bad beats, but this one was surprising to me.

I was playing in a local cash game when I was dealt ATo. A very loose and an ATC player reraised from .50 to $3. I called along with 2 others. Flop comes A35rb. Raiser bet $6 again. I called. Player to my left folds and shows a 3 (bottom pair). Fold. Heads up now. Turn comes a T. She bet $12, I reraised allin for $23. She called. I show my AT, she shows her A3. SWEET! River, the only card that can give her the win, the case 3. A 1 OUTTER!!!! GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Single again

Now that I am single again, I am playing more poker. In fact, I am playing online right now. Currently in 4th place with only 11 players left in the Railbirds Omaha Hi/Lo tournament. Hope to see you here soon.
