Couldn't Get More Poker, Even If I Injected It

Last week was poker week. I played every day, mostly live. This also meant that I drank every night, since most of my poker was at bars. This is often a bad thing, but it turned out to be good and educational. I find that I play PLO much better when I drink than when I don't. Not the same with holdem, but that might just be because I was mixing holdem and omaha. My body does not like ity when I mix alcohol, and my game does not like it when I mix poker.

Saturday I played Big Deuce for the first time. I did not do too well. I dropped $50 in about 4 or 5 rounds. That is not too good considering I won about $0 in one round.

Sunday I lost a 180-person Omaha tourney. Damn, I forgot to drink. I started a single table satellite to next month's tourney, and was doing really bad as I got the nut flush on the river only to be beat by a boat. I started drinking about half way through the tournament, and strangely, my stack started growing. There was one lady at the table who was super aggressive. She was playing everything and often raised the pot preflop and post flop. She was knocking people out left and right and built up a huge stack. When we got down to heads up, she had a 5-1 chip lead over me. In two hands I knocked her down to practically nothing and made it three in a row to win the satellite.

Feeling good about myself, I called a girl I knew in the area and we got together, had a few drinks, and made out in her car in the parking lot like we were in high school.

This week will be another poker week, but this time it will mostly be online. I have 1 or 2 private tournaments set up each day except for Friday. Thursday I will play in the live game at the bar as they are giving away a bunch of qualifiers for the monthly cash tournament for $10,000, in which I only have one. The more qualifiers you win, the more chips you start with.
